Finance lead wanted – LeihBar Bern

LeihBar, a “library of things,” lends out a wide range of items, from tools to everyday equipment. Instead of buying things that often sit unused, you can simply borrow them from us. ♻️

LeihBar is organized as an association and run by around 40 dedicated volunteers across two locations (Bern & Wabern).

💼 Your Role

We are looking for a Finance Lead (Board Member)

Type: Part-time side job (~5%)
Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement

🧾 Your Responsibilities

Managing the association’s finances includes:

• Paying ongoing invoices
• Reviewing membership payments
• Answering finance-related questions from the team
• Preparing the annual budget and financial statements
• Participating in board meetings

As a board member, you will help shape the strategic future of LeihBar!

⏱️ Workload & Conditions

• Approx. 88 hours per year (~5%)
• Peak workload in December/January (year-end closing & budgeting)
• Flexible working hours, mostly remote possible 🏡
• Careful onboarding into the role

✅ Requirements

• Basic understanding of finance required
• No formal accounting qualification necessary
• Willingness to take on the role for at least one, ideally several years

💰 Compensation

• CHF 22/hour
• Plus a free annual LeihBar membership 🎉
