The Innovation and Socio-Economic Change team has the overarching goal of embedding sustainability in all areas of Swiss universities. One of its main focuses is on teaching: economics and other sustainability-related degree programmes should be developed in such a way that students can acquire knowledge and practical skills for sustainable development. In addition, universities should contribute to sustainable development in the spirit of a ‘third mission’. In addition to continuing existing projects, 2026 events for lecturers, consultations for programme directors, a study on the integration of sustainability into degree programmes and a lab with universities and partners from the field to promote sufficiency are planned.
