Equal Opportunities Award Prix Lux 2025
The student group VWelles Rethinking Economics is committed to incorporating different schools of thought into Bern's economics programme and treating them equally. For its engagement, it will receive the 2025 Prix Lux, the University of Bern's equal opportunities award, on 19 November.
With a variety of formats such as lectures, cinema evenings and reading groups, VWelles promotes discussion of different economic perspectives. The promotion of pluralistic economics is a social issue that is closely linked to questions of equal opportunities and equal rights. With the successful implementation of its own lecture series, this perspective has been anchored in the curriculum for the first time. After all, it matters who conducts research and teaching. VWelles shows that students actively and creatively help shape the content of their studies – leading to greater diversity in economics.
