4 new projects for Students4Sustainability!

29.5.2026

✨ Four new student projects are being funded by Students4Sustainability! 🌱

In the upcoming funding cycle, Students4Sustainability is once again supporting innovative student-led projects addressing current challenges of sustainable development. The four newly funded initiatives highlight how students actively contribute to social, ecological, and societal sustainability, ranging from mental health and sustainable resource use to education and regional production systems.

🎲 Lake Elinor further develops an innovative serious game that introduces students to questions of sustainable resource use in a playful and engaging way. At its core is the collective management of a lake as a shared commons. The game provides hands-on insights into how common resources can be used sustainably while encouraging reflection on collective responsibility and cooperation.

🧶 Mariegold connects agriculture, design, and craftsmanship through an experimental “living lab” on a farm. By cultivating dye plants, creating naturally dyed textiles, and offering community-oriented educational activities, the project explores new approaches to regional and resource-conscious textile production while making sustainable production practices tangible and visible.

🧠 The Neurodivergentes Znacht event programme will create inclusive and sensory-friendly spaces for neurodivergent students during the autumn semester of 2026. Through regular dinner events, exchange formats, and collaborations around topics such as mental health and academic accommodations, the project promotes social participation, wellbeing, and educational equity in university life.

♻️ With the follow-up project Kompost-Bande – School Compost as a Learning Lab for Sustainable Action, a successfully tested pilot initiative will be further developed and scaled. The goal is to structurally integrate school composting into primary schools and strengthen education for sustainable development through hands-on learning. Composting, community activities, and educational formats help foster knowledge, practical skills, and sustainable behaviours.

Students4Sustainability is excited to support these inspiring projects and accompany them on their journey while making their progress visible!
