The Bern Upcycling Challenge award aims to stimulate the transition to a circular economy in the regional economy – especially among SMEs – and make an active contribution to the sustainable restructuring of businesses. At the same time, it aims to position the greater Bern region as an important location for the circular economy. It also aims to make an initial contribution to understanding the activities involved and pooling resources. This is essential if we really want to achieve the goal of net-zero CO2 emissions.

The Bern Upcycling Challenge has a total prize fund of CHF 30,000.

The prize is divided into three categories:

1. 1st prize: CHF 15,000
2. 2nd prize: CHF 10,000
3. 3rd prize: CHF 5,000

The money will be paid out in cash.
