We then look forward to a contribution from Anja Peter from the Office for Feminism on the topic of ‘Breaking the strategic silence – without feminism there is no economy’.

Economics takes many things into account – except what really matters. Feminist economics breaks this silence and focuses on what underpins every economy: unpaid and poorly paid work by women – care work, relationships, dependency, quality of life.

An economy that excludes these dimensions misses the mark and is not a suitable basis for political decisions. Economics needs to be rethought – not as a model of growth and consumption, but as a society's ability to provide care, time and quality of life for all.
